European Directives

WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE)

RISO complies with the European WEEE Directive and is registered with the French Environmental and Energy Management Agency (ADEME).

This directive is based on the principle of the extended responsibility of producers of electrical and electronic equipment. The producers themselves are responsible for the disposal of their used equipment.

RISO has set up its own waste collection and treatment system in compliance with the treatment requirements set out by French regulations (Articles 21 and 22 of the Decree and Order of 23 November 2005 on the treatment of WEEE). This system uses the services of CLADIL, an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company which specialises in the treatment of WEEE.

RESTRICTION OF THE USE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES (ROHS)

RISO meets all RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) standards. The RoHS Directive restricts certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment in the EU market.

REGISTRATION, EVALUATION AND AUTHORISATION OF CHEMICALS (REACH)

RISO complies with all the requirements of the European REACH regulation.

The main objectives of this regulation are to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

Products marketed by RISO do not contain any of the 46 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) listed in the REACH regulation.

ENERGY-RELATED PRODUCTS (ERP) DIRECTIVE

RISO complies with the Energy-related Products (ErP) directive, a European regulation that aims to improve the energy efficiency of products throughout their life cycles.
