During the late 1990s, colour printing was considered to be too expensive and time-consuming. In schools, offices and administrative departments, monochrome printers were therefore preferred to colour models, which were deemed unaffordable.

In 2005, RISO introduced its unique FORCEJET™ technology. Designed for a completely new print engine, this process is based on a full colour inkjet printing system. This technology is integrated in our ComColor and VALEZUS ranges and enables us to offer our customers worldwide an optimum balance between “Price / Productivity / Colour”.

INKJET TECHNOLOGY

SIMPLIFIED PRINTING PROCESS

Inkjet printing solutions make use of a more mechanically-based process than laser printers. The printing process is simple and involves only a few steps.
The paper is not exposed to any source of heat, the risk of incidents is low and availability is optimised.
Due to its reliability and small footprint, RISO’s hardware adapts to every environment.
EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH-SPEED PRINTING

With RISO’s inkjet technology, the first page is printed in less than 5 seconds.
The system implements a horizontal paper path below the print heads, thereby making possible the high speeds which constantly boost productivity.
SPECIAL MEDIA

The inkjet technology makes it possible to print on different media such as carbonless copy paper, letterhead paper, envelopes and labels. Because the solutions are non-heating, one and the same sheet can pass through the printing process several times. This capability is useful for overprinting, for example.
LIQUID INK

RISO’s inks are oil-based and are therefore resistant to fading and water. They penetrate the fibres of the paper and consequently guarantee long-lasting print results.
LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

FORCEJET™ technology consists in the use of a cold printing process. The systems consume little energy and do not emit any ozone. Designed to use the greatest possible amount of renewable or recycled materials, RISO’s equipment solutions stand out for their ecological strengths.

LASER TECHNOLOGY

COMPLEX PRINTING PROCESS

Charging, exposure, transfer, fusion and cleaning are all characteristic steps of the complex laser printing process.
This process, which requires more electronics combined with an increase in temperature of the toner, leads to far more frequent technical interventions. The use of heat causes the paper to curl and this can cause annoying paper jams.
STANDARD PRINTING

Laser printing equipment has to preheat and this phase means that the printer delays the output of the first page and is operational less quickly. What is more, laser equipment is generally slower, in particular when restarting after a standby period.
STANDARD MEDIA

The heat increases the risk of paper deformation and means that it is not possible to print on window envelopes.
A page cannot be reprinted due to the risk of impairing the print quality.
TONER

The ink powder is fused to the surface due to the heat. Since it is not embedded in the fibres of the paper, it can be tampered with and become degraded more quickly.
HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Laser printing equipment functions through the use of heat. Energy consumption is therefore higher and the environmental impact is greater.
Laser printers emit organic compounds such as benzene or styrene which then pollute the ambient air.
